Daily Schedule
Keeping up with the daily chores is what makes TAing easy and manageable. It’s incredibly easy for Mr. Davis to fall behind with grading. That means that you are the primary force of continuity and responsibility that keeps APWH grades afloat. So avoid falling behind at all costs! If you do, students start crowding you with stray assignments and teary eyes, a hoard of upset parents flood into Mr. Davis’ email inbox, and it gets ugly.
Log into Aeries: Click the menu in the upper left-hand corner, and select “Attendance by Photo.” Once the seating chart is all set up, all you need to do to take attendance is look for empty seats and mark those students as “A” for absent. Make sure that student is NOT in the bathroom, check if the pass is out! If no students are absent, click the Mark All Students as Present button at the top.
Don’t worry about marking students as tardy, unless they’re obviously late.

2. Grading Outlines
Log into Turnitin: Start, continue, or finish grading outlines from the APWH classes. See “How to Grade Outlines” for more details on this.
3. Everything Else (AKA Late Work)
Look around the desk: More often than not, you’ll find a lot of random, loose assignments that have been lost to the winds of disorganization. They’re probably late assignments that students have placed on the desk at one point or another. So if you have spare time after grading, sift your way through whatever you may find, including the inbox.
Also, check old Turnitin inboxes to see if any students turned in late work. You’ll be able to tell because the document won’t have a score, but a blue pencil icon instead.

- If you can find any outlines, grade them.
- If you find any longer APWH assignments (essays, projects, miscellaneous), grade them if you can.
- If you find an assignment from CP or AP that you are totally clueless about, don’t worry. Place it in Mr. Davis’ inbox and make it his problem.
Weekly Schedule
This is an idea of what your basic TA schedule will look like, not including any extra tasks Mr. Davis may give you. The most important deadlines are in red.
Finish outlines: You should finish grading all the outlines by Tuesday and have them uploaded to Aeries before you leave. Once you get fast at grading, you’ll probably finish by Monday.
Test Day: On Friday, APHW students will take their chapter test and you will collect their paper outlines, if there are any. It’s easy to grade the paper outlines first and get them out of the way so they can’t get lost later.
