How to Input Grades on Aeries
Below is a guide on how to input grades for an assignment as though we are starting from scratch. This walkthrough is specific to outlines, but works as an overview of the important parts of the process. Just like grading outlines, there’s a video below that shows what the average drill is for entering grades.

- Once you’ve finished grading on Turnitin or on paper, go to the Aeries homepage and click Gradebook. Click the box for the first APWH period you want to enter grades for. Click Add Assignment.
2. Below is a picture of something similar to the window that will appear for you. As you can see, some fields are already filled in. Let’s say you’re working on an outline. Fill in the Name, of course.
3. For the Description, you can usually leave it blank for essays, projects, etc., but the common exception is outlines.
4. Change the Category to reflect what you’re entering. Outlines are considered Homework.
5. Edit the Assigned on and Due on date. If you’re not sure about the Assigned on date, just estimate it. For outlines, have the dates reflect the Friday of the previous chapter test, and the Friday when that chapter test takes place.
6. Make the Number Correct Possible whatever Mr. Davis tells you. The Points Possible number should change automatically to match the number you entered. Outlines are 60 points.
7. Finally, the last three boxes: Don’t check Grading Completed until you’re done entering everything in. Visible to Portal and Score Visible to Portal can usually be checked.
8. When you’re done, click Save one time! Aeries is slow, so wait a bit until the page loads.
Paper outlines: Write the number of points they received at the top of the paper, enter their grade on Aeries, stamp the paper, and put it in the “return” box
- For outlines, write how many sections are in that chapter after you’ve counted them. (Doing that will make it easier on you if you’re grading late work, since you can just look up the number of sections you need to count for on the Aeries assignment page.)
